Here's an Example of How it Works:
Tom is spending the weekend at his favorite hotel / casino. He loves playing poker there, but hates having to hang out waiting for a poker table, especially on a Saturday afternoon. But this time, as he makes his way to the poker room, he notices a new sign stating that the casino now offers QLess. It explains that guests now have the option of simply calling QLess with their cell phones to join the poker list, which frees them to do whatever they wish and go wherever they want while waiting for their table.
Tom uses his cell phone to dial the number. QLess answers and asks Tom to choose the game that he wants to play from a list. He does, and QLess informs Tom that there are 4 people ahead of him on the list, and the current estimated wait is 35 minutes. QLess asks whether it should hold Tom's place in line, Tom pushes "1" for "yes", and QLess acknowledges Tom's request and ends the call.
Knowing his place in line is secure, Tom decides to use the time to hit his favorite slots on the other end of the casino. 29 minutes later, QLess calls Tom's cell phone to inform him that he will be the next to get a table in about 5 minutes. Tom is on a roll on the slots, so he asks QLess to push him back another 30 minutes. QLess acknowledges the request and adjust the wait list accordingly.
26 minutes later, Tom gets another call from QLess. He confirms his intention to join the table and QLess instructs him to return to the poker room. Tom returns and presents the attendant with his phone number, who checks Tom off of the list at his terminal, and escorts him to his table.
